The Working Women’s Network
In addition to my small business marketing consultancy, Ideas Into Action, I’m also the Co-Founder and Marketing Manager of a dynamic women’s business network that caters to businesswomen on Sydney’s North Shore and Northern Beaches - The Working Women’s Network. The Network was established in October of 2007 and we welcome all professional women who are looking to connect with, learn from and do business with other women whilst developing personally and professionally.
Networking is a key marketing strategy for all smalll business owners. It is essentially all about creating mutually beneficial relationships with like minded people that you are able to provide and receive value, knowledge and support. You should enter a networking situation with an attitude of abundance - there really is enough work out there for everyone. Also try to have a mindset of ”what can I do for those people I meet” without focusing just on your services - think about who you know, who might need this new person you have met, what connections you may be able to make for them.
The feedback we receive from the members and guests who come along to our Networking Nights and skill development workshops is that the atmosphere we’re creating is really inclusive. If you’ve avoided networking because you’re not that keen on walking into a roomful of strangers or if you’re not sure how it can benefit you as a small business owner, consider checking our The Working Women’s Network. The only qualification you need is to be female! Take a look at what networking events we have coming up - we meet at Checkers Resort and Conference Centre in Terrey Hills.
