Karen Godfrey began her career in above-the-line marketing, working for some of Australias best ad agencies, including Leo Burnett and Clemenger. This beginning equipped Karen with solid skills in strategic brand development and the discipline required to execute large-scale, national campaigns.
Karen then ventured to the UK where she gained valuable experience working with Momentum Worldwide, a below-the-line communications agency, and BT (British Telecom) during an era when the potential of the Internet as a marketing tool was only just being discovered.
On return to Australia, Karen joined the dot-com world as Marketing Manager of an Internet media company. During this time her experience in integrated marketing communications was truly consolidated, as she solely managed a multi-million dollar campaign that included television, radio, press, magazine, promotions, online, e-newsletters, event management, and sponsorship.
Before starting ,Small business marketing Karen took this integrated experience to several other marketing communication agencies between 2002 and 2011 Communicado, The Bridge, Kaleidoscope, Apollo Marketing – working with brands such as Devondale, Lavazza, Big M, Holeproof, SPC, and Bulla.
Since 2011, Karen has helped multiple SMEs in both the consumer and B2B sector, including Ward McKenzie, Colorific, Result Group, Horner Recruitment, DevourIt Catering, Microhire, 360 Degrees Focus and the Elwood Community Playgroup. As well as offering her specialist skills to larger companies, such as PZ Cussons and Murray Goulburn.
